Android@Home is a project by google that already been introduced a few years ago, yet until now there haven’t any information regarding this project’s continuation. Android@Home itself has a great concept; that is finding a way so that most of the electronic stuffs publishers can implement Android to home appliances such as garage door, lamp, thermostat, sound system, and many more.
Even though Android@Home hasn’t realized yet, it seems that surrender is not an option for Google, it is shown by the existence of the new technology invention by google, that is Google Glass that apparently can be used as a hub for the house. Glass uses visual identification, Infrared Bluetooth, and QR code to interact with every home appliances that are connected with the hub, so if the desired thing is cannot be found at home, the system will automatically download some of relevant information and then put it in the control interface. Assuming most of your house stuffs are connected to internet, you can simply control them by the Glass that will soon be patented by Google. If we relate it to something, Glass is a key that can open and make everything connected. Of course that explanation is somewhat dream-like and extremely advanced, yet the problem is whether the producer of the mentioned things wants to make their stuffs compatible with Google Glass. Let’s just hope that the producer will agree and join this project, so that Android@Home will become real in the future.
